It's definitely OneDrive that is causing the problem because the systems will work fine up to the point that OneDrive resets Windows Explorer when it starts syncing. Another symptom is that if you try and free up space in the OneDrive folder, it will bring up a file explorer deletion progress bar and get stuck atīetween 10-20% and never process the free up.
Right clicking on files and foldersĬan stop working altogether, (we just get the spinning loading circle), or auto refresh while stop working. As soon as the sync client launches and logs a user in, File Explorer loses functionality. OneDrive will now restart, the OneDrive icon in the right bottom corner will disappear and reappear. Copy this and paste it into the dialog window. Type the following command to reset OneDrive localappdataMicrosoftOneDriveonedrive.exe /reset.

Update on 10/28/14: Speaking of OneDrive, it now comes with unlimited storage. Hat Tip to Alexander Vanwynsberghe for the tip. To reset OneDrive sync client on a Windows computer: Open a Run dialog by pressing Windows key and R. When you reboot your computer and open up OneDrive again, it will run you through the setup process again, and you should be syncing again in no time.
You wont lose any data by resetting OneDrive. OneDrive will perform a full sync after the reset. If you are not using Windows 10, you can download the latest OneDrive Sync client from here.
